Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams solve a murder mystery in the first ‘Game Night’ trailer

Published

on

The first trailer for New Line’s action-comedy Game Night starring Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams has arrived and, while the trailer may have shown one too many spoilers over the course of its two-minute and thirty-second runtime, this looks like one stupid comedy we can get behind.

Game Night follows Max and Annie, whose weekly couples game night gets taken to a whole new level when Max’s brother Brooks arranges a murder mystery party, complete with fake thugs and faux federal agents. When Brooks gets kidnapped, though, the players think it’s all part of the game, but they soon realize that this “game” is not what it seems to be.

John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, who co-wrote Spider-Man: Homecoming, directed Game Night from a script written by Mark Perez. The film features a star-studded cast that also includes Billy Magnussen, Sharon Hogan, Lamorne Morris, Kylie Bunbury, Jesse Plemons, Danny Huston, Michael C. Hall, and Kyle Chandler.

We’ll find out if Bateman and McAdams are able to crack the case when Game Night opens in theaters on March 2, 2018.

Say what you will about Ready Player One, as I know the film has already stirred up quite a bit of controversy, especially among the Film Twitter types, but there’s no denying that this is one hell of a trailer. The dialogue, visuals, and music all come together so very well, and it should be interesting to see what Spielberg delivers when the finished product arrives in theaters next month.

Written by Zak Penn and Cline, Ready Player One features an all-star cast that includes Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke, Ben Mendelsohn, T.J. Miller, Simon Pegg, and Mark Rylance. The film will be released on March 29.

The new ‘Rampage’ trailer features plenty of Dwayne Johnson and destructive monsters

Published

on

An action-packed new trailer for Dwayne Johnson’s upcoming monster movie Rampage was unleashed this morning and it further reveals what we can expect from the film inspired by the video game series of the same name, which finds a destructive gorilla on the loose in the streets of a busy city.

Johnson stars here as primatologist Davis Okoye, a man who shares an unshakable bond with George, an extraordinarily intelligent silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth. But a rogue genetic experiment gone awry mutates the gentle ape into a raging creature of enormous size.

“Of course the wolf flies,” Johnson says in one scene, as a gigantic, rather demonic-looking flying wolf comes crashing through a building, revealing that George isn’t the only victim of Project Rampage, which seems to have created an entire pack of alpha predators across North America hellbent on destroying everything in their path.

Brad Peyton, who previously collaborated with Johnson on the 2015 blockbuster hit San Andreas, directed Rampage from a script written by Ryan Engle, Carlton Cuse, Ryan J. Condal, and Adam Sztykiel.

Rampage also stars Naomie Harris, Malin Akerman, Jake Lacy, Joe Manganiello, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, P.K. Byrne, Marley Shelton, Breanne Hill, Jack Quaid, Matt Gerald, Jason Liles, Demetrius Grosse, and Will Yun Lee, and will open in theaters on April 20.
