Oscar Isaac is in talks to voice Gomez Addams in MGM’s animated ‘Addams Family’ movie

Oscar Isaac in Star Wars

Star Wars: The Last Jedi star Oscar Isaac is in negotiations to voice Gomez Addams in MGM’s animated The Addams Family movie, according to a report from the Tracking Board that came out over the weekend. Though production on the film is reportedly underway in Vancouver, it’s unclear as to whether or not the studio has begun casting other roles.

Sausage Party co-director Conrad Vernon is at the helm of the animated Addams Family feature working from a script written by Pamela Pettler, based on the iconic characters created by cartoonist Charles Addams in 1938. Gail Berman, Alex Schwartz, and Vernon are producing, while Kevin Miserocchi and Andrew Mittman are serving as executive producers.

Interestingly enough, if the deal goes through, The Addams Family will be the first major animated film of Isaac’s career, though it seems a bit strange (and a bit of a waste) that Isaac, who is practically a doppelganger of the Gomez Addams character, isn’t being cast in a live-action role.

The Addams Family will open in theaters just in time for Halloween on October 11, 2019.

‘John Wick: Chapter 3’ will find Keanu Reeves kicking ass in the streets of New York City

LIONSGATE

It’s been a minute since we’ve gotten a John Wick: Chapter 3 update. Well, three months, to be exact. So far we know that Chad Stahelski, who co-directed the first John Wick along with David Leitch before going solo on the sequel has agreed to direct the upcoming third installment in the action franchise. We’ve also heard that the film’s producers are hoping to have cameras rolling on the production in the coming weeks.

Thanks to our friends over at Collider, we now have a detailed plot synopsis that reveals what kind of deep shit John Wick has gotten himself into now. Oh, and despite previous reports that stated Chapter 3 would possibly take place in places abroad such as Spain and Russia, the action will take place solely in New York City this time around, according to Stahelski.

“John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is on the run for two reasons… he’s being hunted for a global $14 million dollar open contract on his life, and for breaking a central rule: taking a life on Continental Hotel grounds,” the synopsis reads. “The victim was a member of the High Table who ordered the open contract. John should have already been executed, except the Continental’s manager, Winston, has given him a one-hour grace period before he’s ‘Excommunicado’ – membership revoked, banned from all services and cut off from other members. John uses the service industry to stay alive as he fights and kills his way out of New York City.”

I don’t know about you, but this sequel sounds like it has the potential to be the best installment in the John Wick franchise. As someone who has yet to be disappointed by one of these movies, I’m pretty much sold on whatever Stahelski has in store for us next. John Wick: Chapter 3 will open in theaters next summer on May 17, 2019.

The Predator Release Date Changed
20TH CENTURY FOX

Before taking the stage at CinemaCon to unveil the first teaser trailer for Shane Black’s highly anticipated The Predator, 20th Century Fox released the official synopsis for the upcoming sci-fi sequel this morning and, although it doesn’t necessarily reveal anything that we didn’t already know, it’s still pretty damn exciting to hear what Black has in store for us with his latest film.

“From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series,” the synopsis reads. “Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.”

It was just a little more than a month ago when we heard from co-writer Fred Dekker that the production was in Vancouver shooting “some touch-ups” for the film and that Fox was planning on converting The Predator to 3D before its theatrical release. Dekker also confirmed that a teaser trailer, which the studio just showed to a very lucky group of CinemaCon attendees about an hour or two ago, would be released to the public soon.

The Predator stars Boyd Holbrook, Jacob Tremblay, Trevante Rhodes, Keegan-Michael Key, Sterling K. Brown, Olivia Munn, Thomas Jane, Edward James Olmos, Augusto Aguilera, Alfie Allen, and Yvonne Strahovski, and will open in theaters on September 14, 2018.
