This creepy trailer for ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ is edited in the style of Darren Aronofsky’s ‘mother!’

Darren Aronofsky’s latest certainly drew some inspiration from the Polanski classic.

It’s no secret that Darren Aronofsky’s mother! sure does look a lot like Rosemary’s Baby. Mysterious older husband, weird house guests, people questioning Jennifer Lawrence’s character as to why she doesn’t want to have kids. It hits all of the right notes. That being said, it was only a matter of time before someone cut together a Rosemary’s Baby trailer in the style of the mother! trailer.

“With all of the buzz surrounding Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming horror film and its potential similarities to the Polanski classic, I thought I’d put together a little something that melds the two together,” Zach Prewitt wrote in the description of his fan-made edit, which is very excellently put together.

As someone who had the opportunity of experiencing mother! earlier this week, I can confirm that there are indeed many similarities to Rosemary’s Baby throughout the film, but it’s certainly not a top-secret remake like some fans have been speculating for what quite some time. Until I publish my full review in the coming days, I’ll leave my thoughts on mother! right there.

mother! stars Lawrence and Javier Bardem as a couple whose relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence. The film also stars Ed Harris, Michelle Pfeiffer, Domhnall Gleeson, Brian Gleeson, and Kristen Wiig, and will hit theaters this Friday.
