Jon Favreau confirms season two of ‘The Mandalorian’ will be coming to Disney Plus next fall

DISNEY PLUS

With the season one finale of The Mandalorian out on Disney Plus today, showrunner and series creator Jon Favreau took to Twitter to share the news that the Star Wars spinoff will indeed be back for a second season.

However, don’t expect to see new episodes of The Mandalorian anytime soon, as Favreau mentioned in his tweet that the second season of the show starring Pedro Pascal as the titular bounty hunter isn’t set to debut until next fall.

On the bright side, season two of The Mandalorian is reportedly already in production, according to CNBC, so we should certainly expect to see plenty of behind the scenes-related content over the course of the next few months.

This story is still developing. Check back for updates…

Frozen 2 Annie Awards
DISNEY

The International Animated Film Society announced Monday the nominations for the 2019 Annie Awards, which, as you probably could’ve guessed, honor the year’s best in animated media, whether it be film or television.

Among this year’s nominees — at least on the film-related side of things — you’ll find the likes of Disney’s Frozen 2, Laika’s Missing Link, DreamWorks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, Pixar’s Toy Story 4, and Netflix’s Klaus and I Lost My Body.

“This year saw a 20 percent increase in submissions with over 1,900 worldwide entries,” said ASIFA executive director Frank Gladstone. “That was a lot of work for our nomination committees and they have come up with a wide and varied selection for our members to vote on, including films using a vast array of techniques, designs, and storytelling points of view which will make this year’s Annie ballot both interesting and full of insight into the creative possibilities of our art form.”

The winners of the 2019 Annie Awards will be announced January 25. You can check out the complete list of nominations below.

Larry David faces off against a jammed toaster in this new ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ season 10 teaser

Published

on

Curb Your Enthusiasm
HBO

“We can’t wait either,” says the new teaser for the highly anticipated tenth season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, which will finally return to HBO this January more than two years after season 9 wrapped at the end of 2017.

In the minute-long teaser, we see Curb star and series creator Larry David staring down a two-slice toaster. At first, he just looks a little curious and probably just wants to check on the progress of his toast, you know?

But as he waits and waits and waits and time passes, Larry grows increasingly more impatient as his toast seemingly does not want to release the two presumably very delicious slices of bread trapped within its compartments.

He then proceeds to fiddle with the slider rather aggressively and slams the toaster on the table before proceeding to walk off the set in a fit of rage. It’s only then that the toaster decides to — you guessed it — release the bread.

As exciting as it is, the arrival of a new season of Curb will also be somewhat bittersweet, as it will be one of the first to not feature Bob Einstein, who played Larry’s unforgettable gravelly-voiced friend Marty Funkhouser. Einstein, who was also known for his Super Dave Osborne character on various TV shows, died shortly after being diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.

Season 10 of Curb Your Enthusiasm premieres January 19 on HBO.
