Thanks to the good folks over at Marvel Studios, the week is already off to a good start with the arrival of the first trailer for Thor: Ragnarok which features more than enough of our favorite Asgardian god played by Chris Hemsworth, a somewhat ridiculous-looking Jeff Goldblum, and that big green Avenger we all know and love.
As per a press release sent out by the studio this morning, Thor: Ragnarok picks up just after the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron and follows Thor as he finds himself imprisoned on the other side of the universe on Sakaar without his infamous mighty hammer, Mjolnir, and in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok, the destruction of his homeland and the end of his fellow Asgardians. Before going up against the sinister Hela, played by Cate Blanchett, he’ll have to survive a deadly gladiator-style battle against his fellow co-worker, the Incredible Hulk.
Scored to the sweet sounds of Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song,” the first trailer for Thor: Ragnarok offers up a satisfying first look at the highly anticipated new Marvel movie which is due out before the end of the year in November, just a couple of weeks away from Justice League that same month. Even if you’re not overly thrilled about the new characters or Hemsworth’s much cleaner-looking, short haircut, there’s no denying that Thor: Ragnarok looks like a hell of a good time.
Thor: Ragnarok will hit theaters like a hammer on November 3, 2017. If you fancy a new poster, as well, you can check that out below.
