5 Lions Escape Taronga Zoo, Australia


These lions could not wait to be king.

Officials at Taronga Zoo Sydney issued a Code 1 warning on Nov. 2 at 7:30 AM local time. Five lions had escaped from their enclosures and briefly wandered around the zoo, according to Australian outlets. News.com.au.

The following is an official statementOfficials said these words about the popular zoo: “An emergency situation occurred this morning at Taronga Zoo Sydney when five lions were located outside their enclosure. The Zoo has strict safety protocols in place for such an incident. All persons on site were moved to safe zones and there are no injuries to guests or staff.”

The statement said that the lions had been recaptured and “All animals are now in their exhibit where they are being closely monitored.”The zoo also announced that it will open as usual on Nov. 2.

Before the zoo was opened to the public on Wednesday morning (Australian outlet), the lions tried for freedom. 7 News reported.
