A couple discovers a secret room hidden in their kitchen cupboard in their new flat


Two days after moving into their new home, a shocked couple found a hidden room in their flat.

The hidden space was discovered by the renters behind a corner of their kitchen cupboard and even has a window.

However, there is no way to enter the room from outside. The room does not have flooring and appears to still contain some wiring and materials.

Yahoo News Australia reports that a woman from the UK shared the amazing find in a Facebook group called “The Unnamed”. ‘Things Found In Walls – And Other Hidden Findings’.

She wrote to her in surprise:

Other than the surprise entrance in the kitchen, there is no way to enter the secret room
The secret room is locked behind a closed door.

“Just rented a flat with my boyfriend and found a room inside our kitchen cupboard.”

“Definitely gonna leave something weird in it for the next tenants when we move out..”

The group was astonished by the comments of others and they offered their theories about the purpose of the room.

One mum posted: “I would turn it into a hide out to study or hide and eat my kids’ fave snacks so I wouldn’t have to share with my kids”

Another mother who was feeling aggrieved wrote: “I would totally make that into a comfy little hiding spot. Husband getting on your nerves? Run to the hiding spot.”

Others had more wild guesses. One person speculated that it might be the work of a serial killer. “Perfect place to hide the bodies”

Some took a more critical look at the people who built it, and called them a “scumbag”. “waste of good, natural light”.

Last year, a couple of new homeowners discovered a hidden room under their stairs that turned out to be a treasure trove.

They discovered bottles of wine inside the suitcase, which was thought to have been from America.
