Asmir Begovic saved Everton from defeat at the MKM Stadium, in Saturday’s FA Cup third round victory against Hull City.

After parrying Tom Eaves’ short-range shot from Hull, the Bosnian saved the game and avoided the embarrassment that would come with drawing against a Championship team.

On social media, fans went wild with their opinions. Some even compared it to David Seaman’s Matrix-like saveArsenal versus Sheffield United, FA Cup semi-final 2003

After Tyler Smith’s opening goal with less than a minute left, Hull was off to a great start. But Rafa Benitez quickly took control and scored goals from Demarai Gray (and Andre Gomes).

Ryan Longman, the youngster who was playing for the hosts, struck a stunning strike from the box’s edge into the top corner. This equalizer gave them the lead.

FA Cup replays for the third round and fourth rounds were scrapped because of fixture congestion. Extra time was called and Everton’s Andros townsend, from Everton, scored another spectacular strike from 30 yard.

Begovic will still be the Evertonian champion tonight, and that is not surprising.
