Barcelona effectively confirm two summer deals

Barcelona have “almost confirmed” the signings of Andreas Christensen from Chelsea and Franck Kessie from AC Milan.

Both of their contracts will expire in the summer. The Bosman ruling has allowed them to talk to clubs since January. The Blaugranes can therefore complete both deals without needing to pay any money to their current sides.

Barca has been closely linked to Chelsea’s Danish international. Due to Roman Abramovich’s sanctions, the Blues couldn’t renegotiate any new deal with Christensen.

Joan Laporta, Barca president, was able to confirm the signings while speaking on RAC1.

Laporta stated that: “We’ve completed two signings for the next season. “One is a central defender, and the other is a midfielder. However, I am not permitted to name their names.”

Alongside Christensen, Milan’s Kessie is believed to be the midfielder Laporta is speaking about following reports the Ivorian international had put to paper on a deal in Catalonia.

Barca isn’t thought to be in pole for either striker with Haaland looking for Manchester City and Mbappe looking for Real Madrid.
