Benjamin Mendy convicted of eighth count for rape against seven females


Benjamin Mendy was charged with a eighth count of rape on seven women.

27-year-old Manchester City defender will be on trial starting July 25 after being accused of 10 counts, which also include one sexual assault and one attempted. Louis Saha Matturie, his co-defendant, will also appear in court. He is charged with eight counts of rape as well as four counts of sexual abuse relating to eight female victims.

Mendy is now facing a second count of rape. Mendy has yet to plead. This allegation was made by a new complainant. Mendy is now being accused by seven different women. Mendy pleaded guilty to the first charge, but not the second, in court last month. The media were prohibited from publishing the latest charges until Wednesday’s hearing at Chester Crown Court by Judge Steven Everett Recorder of Chester.

Benjamin Mendy was charged with the eighth count of rape

Mendy is accused in all of the offenses. They are all said to have occurred at his home between October 2018 – August 2018.

Both he and Matturie (40) will be tried by a jury that began on July 25.

Matturie is accused of a variety of offences, which occurred between July 2012 and August 2013.

Mendy signed for City from Monaco in the summer of 2017 for a £52million fee and was suspended by the club after being charged by police.

Both defendants remain on bail in anticipation of trial.
