Betty Davis, legendary funk singer and ex-wife of jazz great Miles Davis, has died at the age of 77.
Her long-time friend Danielle Maggio confirmed her passing to Rolling Stone, saying the American funk singer died from natural causes.
Amie Downs, communications director for Allegheny County where Betty is said to have lived, added that the cause of death was natural causes, the publication reports.
Davis rose to prominence in the mid 1960s and 1970s with her instantly recognizable raspy voice and cemented herself in funk music history.
