Beyoncé Appears to Remove Kelis Sample From Renaissance Album


It looks like Beyoncé Just said goodbye to the sample Kelis‘ “Milkshake”Check out her new website Renaissance album.

Days after Kelis publicly called for the “Break My Soul”Singer and producer Pharrell Williams for allegedly telling her she didn’t know an interpolation her 2003 single would use on “Energy,” the fifth song off Beyoncé’s new LP, Rolling StoneIt was reported that some music streaming services have removed the controversial sampling.

The outlet stated that the interpolation cannot be heard when streamed via Apple Music or Tidal. But, as BuzzFeedNot to be missed, the lyrics video for the track was Original uploaded to YouTube July 28It still includes the sample.

Effective August 2, Credits to composers “Energy” listed on Beyoncé’s official website notes that the song “contains an interpolation of ‘Milkshake’ written by Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo and performed by Kelis.”It is unclear if the tune will be altered to reflect the updated version.

E! News has reached out to Beyoncé’s rep and her label for comment on the updated version and hasn’t heard back.
