Blink-182 Officially Reopens Tom DeLonge With Big Announcement about New Music


Tom DeLonge is officially back with Blink-182 and they just announced new music and a worldwide tour. The band shared a hilarious NSFW video on Tuesday morning with fans who were excited for them. “coming” back. Blink-182 announced at the end of the clip that they are working on a new album, with a brand new song due out Friday. DeLonge parted with Blink-182’s Travis Barker, Mark Hoppus, and Travis Barker in 2015. In 2015, DeLonge was replaced by Matt Skiba as singer/guitarist. Rumours of DeLonge’s return have circulated for several years. DeLonge made an announcement in November 2021. Hoppus’ battle with cancer led to this conversation, which allowed the two men to rekindle their once broken friendship. “We always talk about playing together again and I think that that’s definitely something we’re all interested in. Finding the time to do it where it lines up with everybody’s priorities is really all that’s needed, and getting Mark healthy again, getting him strong again,”He stated. “But yeah, I’m down, I think those guys are down. I think just finding the time to do it and when is really what we just got to figure out.”

Hoppus appeared in December. With GQHe confirmed that DeLonge was available to return, but didn’t necessarily mean that Skiba would not still be able to have a job. “We haven’t really talked about that, but I’m open to anything in the future,” Hoppus said. “I don’t know how that would work if it’s all four of us. Like we’re all going to live in the same house again?”

Many speculated that Skiba had been expelled from the group, and he seemed to be unsure. Skiba posted photos from New Orleans on Instagram in July. His involvement with Blink-182, a band that includes Travis Barker, drummer Travis Barker, and Mark Hoppus, was discussed in the comments. “You guys think he is still in Blink?” a fan questioned. “No Blink content here and the Blink guys don’t post pictures [with] Matt.” 

Skiba replied to this comment. “Your guess is as good as mine.”Then he added: “Regardless, I am very proud of and thankful for my time with Blink-182. We shall see…”Skiba is the founder and guitarist of Chicago punk rock group Alkaline Trio. He was a member of Blink-182 for seven years and has been a part of two albums.
