According to a report, Chelsea are close to agreeing a deal with Ousmane Dembale, the Barcelona contract rebel.
The Blues are finally able to start planning for next season after Todd Boehly’s £4.25billion takeover was officially rubber-stamped earlier this week. Since Roman Abramovich was sanctioned by the UK in March, Chelsea has been unable to sign new players or negotiate new deals with current players.
Now that Boehly is gone, the Blues are back in business. Thomas Tuchel also signed his first summer deal.
According to a report from TalkSPORTChelsea and the Chelsea are the favorites to capture Dembele after his contract at Nou Camp expires. After he has terminated his contract with Spanish giants, the ex-Borussia Dortmund star, who was a Tuchel collaborator in Germany, is now available for nothing.
Although he was plagued with injuries in Spain, the 25-year old still managed to score 15 goals in only 21 games last season.
Barcelona have made numerous attempts to keep the winger, who cost them an eye-watering £135.5m back in the summer of 2017. Chelsea is in pole position to sign Dembele, and it seems that Dembele will move on.

After a disappointing second-half of the season, the Blues are looking to strengthen Tuchel’s team. After a spectacular start, Chelsea was at the top of Premier League alongside Liverpool & Manchester City. However, they soon fell away.
The Blues will not only be looking for a deal to sign Dembele but also need to rebuild their defense after Antonio Rudiger’s official move to Real Madrid earlier this week.
Rudiger could not agree to a new contract with the Stamford Bridge hierarchy. The German defender was an integral player for Tuchel’s former European champions. He will now be a Bernabeu player next season. Andreas Christensen, who is due to leave the Londoners at the end of this month, is also expected.
