Authorities released a video from their bodycam that captured the discovery of mummified remains belonging to an alleged leader of a cult.
The Saguache County Sheriff’s Department says 45-year-old Amy Carlson’s body was found wrapped in a sleeping bag and decorated with Christmas lights back in April. Her eyes were also covered with glitter.
She was the leader and founder of Love Has Won, based out of Moffat in Colorado.
Reports claim that a group member told Carlson and his family that a corpse was in their home. Two children were also found at this residence.
Seven people were initially charged with tampering and abuse of a dead human body and misdemeanor child cruelty. However, the district attorney dropped all charges.
In 2020, Dr. Phil interviewed Carlson about alleged abuse claims made by former members of Love Has Won.
The coroner still hasn’t determined Carlson’s cause of death and has reportedly ordered extensive laboratory tests.
