The soap-star hinted that she might return to her role of Liz McDonald when she starred on Celebrity Catchphrase on Saturday night (February 5).

Speaking to host Stephen Mulhern at the start of the show, Beverley dropped the exciting bombshell that is sure to leave fans at home in a frenzy of joy.

Introducing the star, Stephen dubbed Beverley a “Corrie legend” before revealing that she had been in more than 2,400 episodes of the popular ITV soap, over a duration of 30 years.

The cheeky chappy host then asked Beverley: “Last time that we saw Liz, you emigrated to Spain, so does that mean you can come back one day?”

To which she said: “Yes, she could do, she could do.”

Before teasing: “When I’m not busy I might think about it.”

Stephen sounded full of joy when he then told her how much of a great character she was on the cobbles, and Beverley then said that she did have a “great time.”

One fan took to Twitter to say: “Oh I love & adore the lovely @Beverleycallard such a lovely kind funny lady I hope Lis returns to the cobbles one day but wish Bev all the success in the world in her future projects #Catchphrase.”

The 64-year-old Coronation Street legend first appeared in the soap in 1984, but not as Liz, as a character named Gail instead, and then another called June.

A few years later in 1989, she returned to the cobbles as Liz McDonald and soon became a permanent fixture.

On and off the cobbles over the years, she was last seen in Corrie back in 2020 when her final scenes aired, and now the star has hinted that a possible return could be on the cards in the future.

But other than her Soapland stardom, Bev has also made a name for herself appearing in ITV reality show I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, where she became close pals with radio DJ Jordan North.

The pair soon scooped their very own TV show together, which even saw them cement their newfound friendship with matching tattoos.
