“Dancing With the Stars” Pro Pulled from Monday’s Episode after COVID Diagnosis

COVID-19 continues its destructive work at Dancing With the Stars. Val Chmerkovskiy declared Sunday that he was positive for the virus and would be missing Monday’s episode. He is the second pro-dancer to test positive after Daniella Karagach (who missed two weeks).

“Val Chmerkovskiy, unfortunately, tested positive for COVID and will sit out this week’s show as he quarantines,”Show representatives spoke Entertainment Tonight. Alan Bersten will replace him, and he will continue to dance with The BacheloretteGabby Windey is the star. Bersten spent the first six week of the season singing country music with Jessie James Decker. She was then eliminated on October 24.

“Got some bad news. I, unfortunately, tested positive for COVID and will not be able to perform this Monday,”In an Instagram video, Chmerkovskiy shared his thoughts with his followers. “It sucks majorly, for lack of a better, more profound word.”Chmerkovskiy confirmed Windey’s negative test results and she will perform on Halloween night. He said that he is confident in Bersten’s ability to assist Windey with the next episode.

“Again, this is a huge bummer. I’m very disappointed. I feel like I let some people down. Selfishly, I was really looking forward to this week’s routine, being Halloween, being the Argentine Tango. I really, really love this routine,”Chmerkovskiy stated. “But the good thing is that Gabby knows it, Gabby’s ready, and Alan’s going to do a great job. You guys are going to vote us through, so I’ll be back next week.”He thanked fans for their support, and promised to return to the show before it was over.

It is fitting that week seven’s episode falls on Halloween. Therefore, the episode will have a creepy theme. Widney will be joined by Bersten to dance the Argentine tango.Shivers“by District 78 and Mikayla Lyn. They will also be dancing “Team Wicked,”Who will perform? “The Witches Are Back”Starting at Hocus Pocus 2..

Late last month Karagach tested positive to COVID-19. This was just days after multiple positive tests were conducted by behind-the scenes staff following the Sept. 19 premiere. Karagach was placed with Joseph Baena (actor and bodybuilder). In weeks two and three, Alexis Warr was her replacement. Baena, Karagach and all other participants were eliminated on October 18.

This season of DWTS Live streaming on Disney+ starting at 8 p.m. ET. All viewers have the opportunity to vote for their favorite dancers as this season airs live in all time zones. Windey is not the only celebrity. Charli D’Amelio (Charli), Heidi D’Amelio (Trevor Donovan), Vinny Guadagnino/Shankea, Jordin Sparks, and Wayne Brady are all still available.
