Roy looks on as England makes it two from two at the World Cup

Darren Gough praised England’s bowling attack as being behind their success. “unbelievable”Start at the T20 World Cup.

England are bidding for the title of double world champions. They have won the 50-over World Cup 2019 and currently hold the top spot in their Super 12 group.

Eoin Morgan’s team won a dominating five-wicket victory over the West Indies, the reigning champions. They were bowled out for only 55, the lowest total in tournament history.

They followed it with an eight-wicket win against Bangladesh, which reduced them to 124-9 in their innings.

Mirror Sport reported that Gough was impressed with England’s start in the tournament. At the launch Booking.comThe T20 Pavilion is a luxury pavilion. : “It has been a two incredible performances from England so far.

“I’ve been so impressed with Moeen Ali opening the bowling alongside Chris Woakes. I’m never surprised by Woakes’ performances, I’m a huge fan of him.

“He’s a great coach. I have worked with him in coaching.

“You need to win powerplays to win World Cup matches. Chris Woakes and Moeen Ali have been fantastic.

“The batting hasn’t had to do much yet because the bowlers have done all the work, bowling out a West Indies side that’s very dangerous and was one of the favourites for the World Cup.

“Bangladesh has just experienced a complete and utter collapse. They lost to Scotland just before the Super 12s. [against England]It was not good enough with the bat.

“The big game for me, though, is going to be England vs Australia [on Saturday].”

Tymal Mills, left arm quick, is making his return to international service after a more than four year absence. This was due to an elbow injury sustained by Jofra Arcer, his Sussex team-mate.

Mills has participated in both the first and second games. He is England’s top wicket-taker with five wickets, an average 8.80.

“He’s fantastic,”Gough said. “I told him during The Hundred he had England to play at the World Cup. People were like, ‘He’s going to get out of here’ but he had.

“He’s got pure pace, he’s left-arm, he’s got a good slower ball and his stats at the death are some of the best around.

“Mark Wood must have had that injury, I believe. [before the West Indies game]We were very grateful to him as he probably would have played before Mills. Tymal Mills, as a bowler is my first choice.”

When asked which other teams had impressed him at the tournament so far, Gough named Pakistan as a side which he expects to go far.

Pakistan also won their Super 12 matches, beating India by ten wickets while New Zealand beat them by five wickets.

“Pakistan I talked about before the tournament [as a contender], it’s not just after watching them play,”Gough, “They’re very dangerous.

“I would play against them in tournaments to raise my level. They were fine in a regular series but not when they were in tournaments.

“They seem to peak for tournaments like India do and that’s what it’s all about.

“England has been good between World Cups, and then they were terrible at World Cups.

“I think what we’ve found over the past few years is England are now peaking at World Cups. In 2019, they peaked at the right time [to win the 50-over World Cup].”
