Donald Trump continues to pursue LeBron James. Trump, the former President of the United States, spoke recently at Turning Point USA’s Student Action Summit in Tampa. He took aim at LeBron James and the transgender community. Trump stated that he would be a woman’s basketball coach, if he was a president of the United States. “the greatest of all time”He would follow male athletes.
“If I were a basketball coach of the women’s team, I would be the greatest coach of all time. I’m not a fan of Lebron James at all, I don’t like him, but I say ‘Lebron, did you ever think of becoming a woman? Did you ever because I’d like to have you on my team,'” Trump declared, Newsweek. “I’d love to have you on our team LeBron. But, think of it it’s so crazy what’s happening.
Trump has been touring across the country to support different republican candidates. Earlier this year, Trump was speaking in Nebraska and decided to take another shot at James. “LeBron James, whom I don’t like very much.” Trump said on May 1. “I’ll be honest and say: “LeBron, have you ever thought about becoming a woman?” I would love to have your basketball team.”
James has been outspoken against Trump over the years. After the Capitol riots on Jan. 6, 2021, James expressed his frustration with the incident. “We live in both Americas. This was the prime example of it yesterday.” James said at the time. “You need to step back if you don’t get it. You don’t need to take just one step, but several, five, or even ten steps backwards. What do you want for your grandkids or children to experience in this wonderful country? Because yesterday wasn’t it.”
In 2020, Trump attacked James for being critical of him. “Although he’s a great player of basketball, people don’t want him to be that way. They don’t want to see this. … He’s a hater,” Trump said on Rush Limbaugh’s show. “It’s not a good idea to watch a basketball match and then sit down to watch someone who hates you guts.
