During the Disney+ Premiere, ‘Dancing With the Stars” eliminates fan-favorite TV star

Dancing With the StarsIt aired its debut season on Disney+ on Monday evening. Surprise surprise, one of the contestants from the celebrity category was eliminated at the end of the episode. Who was the first to be eliminated from Season 31

The night is over Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice and Sex and the CityJason Lewis, an alum, was among the bottom two along with his partners. The judges were then tasked with deciding who would make it to the next week. The judges ultimately voted to save Giudice. This meant that Lewis and Peta Murgatroyd were the first to be sent home after Season 31. 

The premiere provided fans with their first glimpse of the celebrities contestants. The Mirrorball Trophy is still open to 15 contestants, Lewis being out. The cast includes The BacheloretteStar Gabby Windey, actor Joseph Baena and multi-talented Wayne Brady 

Monday night’s premiere brought about some significant changes. DWTS franchise. It was also the start of Disney+’s tenure. It was revealed earlier in the season. DWTSAfter 30 seasons on ABC, he would be moving to Disney+. Kareem Daniel (chairman of Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution) released a statement regarding the move. “Dancing With the Stars has entertained fans for 16 years on ABC, and we are excited to bring this beloved show exclusively to Disney+ as the platform’s first-ever live series. The show’s broad appeal, as well as the overwhelming popularity of its Disney-themed competition nights, make Disney+ the perfect home for Dancing With the Stars while continuing to expand our demographic reach.”

Apart from having a new streaming home, DWTSIt also has a new host. Tyra Banks started hosting in Season 29, taking over from Erin Andrews, Tom Bergeron, and Erin Andrews. She’ll now have someone to support her on the dancefloor starting with Season 31. Alfonso Ribeiro, Banks’ cohost, was announced by the series ahead of the premiere. 

Dancing with the Stars has been such an important part of my life for so many years, and I am ecstatic to officially re-join this tight-knit family as co-host,”Ribeiro said, in a statement: TVLine. “Tyra and I have a longstanding friendship that I hope will resonate with all of the fans at home as we kick off this new season on Disney+.”
