Ebanie Bridges, a Leeds United fan, was treated like a hero on Saturday when she returned to Elland Road as the world champion.

The Blonde Bomber, which was also given to Leeds fans by world champion Josh Warrington, was presented to the supporters before the match against Southampton.

Bridges took home the IBF bantamweight title in a unanimous victory over Maria Cecilia Roman, her first title in her career at Leeds’ First Direct Arena.

To celebrate her title winning, she was unveiled before the match and performed a lap in honour.

Bridges uploaded footage from her pitch entrance to Instagram after the match ended in a draw. She was seen waving at fans and taking photos.

She wrote: “Was a great day at Elland Road today, getting such an amazing reception with the Leeds Warrior and 2x World Champion Josh Warrington. ILY LEEDS. Thank you Leeds for the love and support.”

Bridges was wearing a retro Leeds shirt, and a jacket with her nickname “The Blonde Bomber” as she paraded around the Elland Road pitch. She then took her place in the stands.

She watched as Jesse Marsch’s team were held to a 1-1 draw at Southampton. Jack Harrison’s opening goal was cancelled by a spectacular free-kick by James Ward-Prowse.

After winning her title last Saturday, the Aussie fighter made no secret about her love for Leeds. She posed with three of the club’s top stars to get a picture.
