Eddie Hearn and Jake Paul discuss co-promoting
Eddie Hearn believes Jake Paul’s inexperience and youth could have huge benefits when they team up to promote Katie Taylor Vs Amanda Serrano.
Paul was presented by Hearn against AnEsonGib, a fellow YouTuber in January 2020. He also promoted Logan’s rematch with KSI November 2019.
They will then reunite for a series in New York and London press conferences to launch the historic bout, which has been dubbed the most important in women’s ring history.
Hearn believes Paul is still struggling to deal with the bitter aspects of the sport, which make older promoters unhappy. Hearn believes this makes it easier for him to help push the event.
His social media platforms include tens to millions of followers on Instagram, YouTube and Tik Tok. He also recently released a diss track about UFC boss Dana White, which was No.1 on YouTube.
“The great thing about him is that he’s not been tarnished yet with the bitterness of the sport,” Hearn shared his thoughts with DAZN News yesterday.
“He’s just thinking how we can make this fight as big as possible, rather than ‘don’t like that guy, I’m not going to push this hard’, at the moment he’s refreshing and great to work with as a promoter.
“I gave him his debut as a fighter, it’s my fault this whole thing.”
Hearn previously stated that he would allow Paul to conduct press conferences for the fight. This is despite his previous experience with managing major show promotion.
Paul and Hearn, who signed Serrano as his sole signing to the Most Valuable Promotions banner last year, hope that a fight like this can help women’s boxing to become mainstream.

Taylor is already a star in America and the UK, as well her native country of Ireland. Serrano is growing in popularity on social media because she is associated with Paul.
The fight is expected to be a huge success for the sport because of the massive Puerto Rican and Irish expatriates living in New York.
“One of the reasons why we were so successful was because I was young, and I could attract the younger generation,” Hearn continued.
“It’s the same with what he’s doing, but he’s got a platform, much bigger than I ever had.
“People that aren’t in boxing, who don’t follow boxing, he can try to bring them in for that fight and that’s important for the next generation, to grow fight fans.
“Also, it’s massive for women’s boxing that the younger generation will be watching women’s boxing and saying, ‘this is great’.
“Young girls who might actually use the sport to benefit their lives.”
