Portugal boss Fernando Santos, who claimed Cristiano Ronaldo could leave Manchester United this year, refused to enter the debate on his future. He told Erik ten Ha that he was still the best player around the world.

Santos was questioned about Ronaldo’s future in Portugal’s Nations League tripleheader, but the Portugal gaffer said that he didn’t want any involvement and that it was Ronaldo who decides what he does next.
He stated: “I’ve said it many times, Cristiano [Ronaldo] is the best player in the world. It is his choice [if he wants to stay at Manchester United], it’s a personal decision. It’s not for me to say if I think it’s right or wrong.”
Ten Hag said it was a no-brainer for Ronaldo to play an integral part at Old Trafford’s next season.
The Dutchman answered the question “Ronaldo” when asked if he would include it in his plans. “Of course.”
Then, he was asked what he could expect from Ronaldo. He laughed and responded: “Goals.
When pressed on the Portugal star’s leadership responsibilities, Ten Hag added: “I will speak to Ronaldo about that before I speak to you.”
Ronaldo believes that all players are excited about playing under Ten Hag, and that he can bring silverware next year.
