Home TownStar Erin Napier looks like she has complete control over her marriage to Ben. Recent posts suggest that this may not be the case.. The HGTV star has struggles and issues like everyone else. She shared some details in her most recent Instagram post.
Napier shared her struggles with “panic attacks”And “spiraling thoughts”Among other health problems she has had to deal with. “This time of year, I feel the anniversary of illness so acutely. These hospital photos were taken in 2014, at the end of my 10 year illness from (unknowingly) a perforated appendix. I wrote about that decade in our book, Make Something Good Today, and for a long time thought I had put that all to bed with that final surgery,” Napier writes. “My appendix, along with the physical suffering, has been gone for 8 years. But, I have been learning from my friend, a therapist, that it left some deep neuro pathways that have left a severe fear and preoccupation with sickness, nausea, in particular, over the past eight years.
“My brain starts a fight or flight mission in an attempt to save my life without my consent, even though I am not at risk. Panic attacks and spiraling thoughts rush in.” Napier continued. “I feel at least relieved that all these dots have been connected in recent months. They were brought to the surface by the constant turmoil and dread of living in a world in which there was a pandemic.”
As she continues, Napier comes to grips with her situation being publicized. It’s a new addition to her life that she is fine with fans knowing and understanding. “It’s not something bad or good. It’s part of my brain. I try to untangle it daily, even though you might see some happy news and posts. It’s okay, it’s all of us.” Napier closed out the caption. “Each of us has our own personal struggles. Isn’t it nice to be able to edit out the bad parts? It’s like seeing loved ones gathered around your hospital room bed. There’s always light at the end of the tunnel.”
The HGTV star’s post garnered some quick praise from the likes of The Pioneer WomanRee DrummondDrew Barrymore and Drew Barrymore. They both thanked Napier for sharing their stories and praised her for speaking up.
