Ambulance services and police received reports that a woman had suffered severe injuries at an Islington address. She was unresponsive to emergency services, who were unable to save her.
In university accommodation, a woman was murdered.
The 19-year old was found earlier in the morning at a private student property.
Ambulance services and police received reports that the woman sustained serious injuries at an Islington, north London address.
They arrived at the address at 5.10am. The young woman was found by them, but they were unable save her.
London Ambulance Service officers and staff attended to her, but she was declared dead at the scene despite emergency workers’ best efforts.
My LondonPolice are investigating the incident. Multiple streets around the address have been cordoned off. A murder investigation has also been initiated.
Arbour House, the place where she was found, is believed be private accommodation. It hosts students from all universities in the capital.
The panicked students described the police’s banging on their doors.
One tenant claimed that a 19-year-old victim was killed in their apartment. “You don’t think it would happen so close”.
Anna, a 20-year-old student from Romania, also said: “I feel really uncomfortable. She was quite close to my age. Police were on my floor banging on doors. It was scary.”
The crime scene has not been destroyed, but students are leaving the accommodation.
Unite Student residents have begun packing up their belongings and moving on.
One woman stated: “Because of the scene a lot of us are leaving.”
Later, the owners of the accommodation released a statement.
A spokesperson for Unite Students stated: “As this remains an on-going police incident, we are unable to comment on their investigation.
“Our priority at this time is the safety and wellbeing of students at Arbour House. We are working closely with the police and City, University of London.”
Police have cordoned off the front of the Islington student accommodation.
Following the murder of a 19 year-old, streets surrounding Arbour House student accommodation were closed.
The police found the woman suffering from serious injuries and they arrested her around 5.10am.
In some areas, travel was restricted.
