Will Elon Musk leave Twitter as the head of Twitter? After a Twitter poll ended Monday, the question remains: 57.5% of respondents voted “yes” to Musk’s question, “Should I step down as the head of Twitter?”
The poll was voted on by more than 17.5 million Twitter users. Musk stated in the original poll that his intention to continue the poll. “abide by the results of this poll.”
Musk used similar polling systems to make other major Twitter decisions, including reinstating the Twitter account of former President Donald Trump, who was banned from the platform following the Jan. 6 Capitol Riot for spreading misinformation.
Musk, Twitter, and Twitter have yet to make an official announcement regarding what will happen next. Musk however has been tweeting since then. “there is no successor”In response to speculations, he said that he has already selected a new CEO.
Musk has made a number of controversial moves since becoming CEO of Twitter last October.
Musk suspended several prominent journalists’ accounts last week. He then reinstated them on Saturday after a similar Twitter poll.
Musk claimed that he was being doxxed and shared his location with journalists. “basically assassination coordinates.”He tweeted earlier in week that one of his kids was driving a car and it was being monitored, and then he blocked it from moving.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, however, no police reports were filed in relation to the incident as of last week.
He applied the same rules to ban accounts previously used for tracking private jets, even his own.
Over the weekend, Twitter also announced that users would no longer be able to post links to competitor social media sites, including Facebook, Instagram, Mastodon, and Trump’s Truth Social. LinkedIn, TikTok, and Parler did not appear on the list.
