“GentleMinions”: Teens Get All Dressed Up To See New ‘Minions’Cinemas in Theatres


The new “Minions”Instalment made $125 million in the weekend and was the largest Fourth of July weekend opening at box office. For some fans, that’s reason to play dress up!

The trend is dubbed “GentleMinions,”TikTok was the birthplace of my son. Teens are getting dressed up in their Sunday best to see “Minions: The Rise of Gru”To show their affection for animated films they grew up watching. 

Some kids even accessorize their formal wear with bananas — the beloved character’s favorite food.

Universal Pictures, Minions’ distributor is paying attention. “To everyone showing up to @Minions in suits: we see you and we love you.”

However, not everyone is happy. 

One movie theater was evacuated after teens became rowdy, throwing bananas. Cops were dispatched to the scene. They were ejected without refunds. 

Some theaters ban people from wearing costumes because they are distracting to other moviegoers.
