On Friday, a Georgian woman was killed in an accident while riding at a horse-riding competition. According to the Dalton Daily Citizen.
Breanna Chadwick from Reinhardt University, a 20-year-old Reinhardt University student was at a rodeo organized by the Murray County Saddle Club.
According to the Daily Citizen a horse collided with a gate in the arena. The gate fell on Chadwick.
“Lord, please pray for my sister, Breanna Chadwick. She has been in a horrible accident. We need all the prayers we can get for her. They [are] airlifting her to Erlanger Hospital and the doctors said to prepare for the worst,”Kirstin Chadwick was her sister and posted on Facebook.
Chadwick died after being taken to Chattanooga’s hospital.
According to local media, the Saddle Club stated that “after a lot of tears and heavy consideration,”They spoke with the family and continued to plan the events for the weekend.
“You could always find her at Chick-fil-A getting a lemonade or at Bruster’s getting a single scoop of birthday cake ice cream. She loved the color teal, her jeep, Lily, and Peanut, but most of all she loved her family and friends,”In her obituary, the family wrote.
Funeral services for Chadwick take place Wednesday in Canton.
According to Reinhardt College’s Price School of Education, Chadwick fulfilled her goal of helping people by being an organ donor.
Friends of the family have set up a GoFundMe account to help pay for Chadwick’s funeral expenses.
Her community has raised over $21,000 already. Some of the raised funds will go towards creating a scholarship in Breanna’s name, according to the outlet.
