Horse dies after falling at first Cheltenham Festival hurdle


Shallwehaveonemore was also fatally injured during the Sky Bet Supreme Novices’ Hurdle on Tuesday, 2022.

Shallwehaveonemore is a five year old dog owned by Steven Packham and trained by Gary Moore.

Ed Chamberlin, ITV’s presenter, said during the broadcast: “I’m afraid the news it what we feared about Shallwehaveonemore.

“I was forced to put the dog down because of a fall. Steven Packham, the owner of the Cheltenham Festival has had little luck in the past few years. Similar to the Moore family.

Adding: “Sad start to the Cheltenham Festival, that is.”

Constitution Hill led home a one-two for Nicky Henderson in the race, which will be remembered for the sad passing of Shallwehaveonemore.
