House of the DragonThis is the first “successor series”HBO has given Game of Thrones its greenlight. Although it is a prequel that takes place 200 years before the main series’ events, it doesn’t directly impact the main series. House of the DragonThis book is about the House Targaryen’s rule over Westeros. It begins at its highest point and ends in one of its darkest chapters.
Since the first show was announced in 2019, it has been a long-running favorite of fans. HBO ordered the series straight to series. It will receive 10 episodes, just like the first seasons. Game of Thrones. But the show had been in production for much more time than that. Based on George R.R. Martin’s book, the show was created. Martin’s book Fire & Blood – an imaginary history book tracing about 130 years’ worth of Targaryen rule in Westeros.
A report by Deadline, House of the Dragon built on some ideas from another Game of Thrones spinoff that never moved forward – an untitled project by Game of Thrones writer Bryan Cogman. HBO decided not to pick up Cogman’s show. House of the DragonThis is the showrunner Ryan J. Condal, and Miguel Sapochnik.
House of the DragonThe film was ordered in October 2019 and started filming in spring 2021. It was released in March. HBO recently confirmed that the series will air for 10 consecutive weeks. This means that there will be a new episode every Sunday between now and Oct. 23. The finale of season 23 will air on Oct. 23.
House of the DragonIt wasn’t the first. Game of ThronesHBO tried a spinoff, but it is unlikely to be the first. At least two spinoffs have been considered by HBO and rejected. “successor shows”It currently has at most four live-action series in development. Three animated shows are also in development. However, none of these seven shows have been ordered to series nor to the pilot stage.
For the moment, House of the DragonFans who are devoted to the series will be able to enjoy it for a long time. The series premieres Sunday, Aug. 21 at 9:00 p.m. ET on HBO Max. Each Sunday, Oct. 23 through Oct. 23, new episodes air. After they air, the episodes can be streamed on HBO Max.
