Contestants aren’t supposed to interact with the audience. The Jeopardy! Test occurs once a year but there’s also an anytime test you can take any time. Some applicants apply to be on Jeopardy! for years and never get called down, so if it’s an aspiration of yours, good luck!
Becoming an audience member is somewhat easier just because you don’t have to take a test, but there are just as many rules. The easiest step is to request tickets to the show. Get There Early And Do What You’re Told

COVID-19 now has very strict rules regarding admission. Everybody must be Fully vaccinated for COVID-19. That means mandatory booster shots, and it’s strictly enforced. All audience members must wear KN-95 Masks at all times.

During tapings, Trebek would often chat with the audience. The legendary host would speak about his personal life, discuss the game, and take questions. It’s unknown if Mayim Bialik or Ken Jennings will do the same, but COVID rules will probably amend this experience. It’s simply not the same as it used to be for safety reasons.
