Grammy Awards: Taylor Hawkins, Foo Fighters’ late drummer, was honored on Sunday, March 3rd.
Trevor Noah, Grammys host presented a video of Taylor performing My Hero while being played by the band.
This video was the inspiration for the In Memoriam segment, performed by Ben Platt (Cynthia Erivo), Leslie Odom Jr., and Rachel Zegler.
Foo Fighters had been scheduled to perform at Grammy, but Trevor’s sudden death just over a month ago meant that the group was forced to cancel their appearance and the upcoming tour.
Three Grammy Awards were won earlier by The Foo Fighters, including Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Album.

After paramedics tried to revive the 50-year-old drummer, who was suffering from severe injuries, he was declared dead at a Colombian hotel. “chest pain”.
Foo Fighters announced his death at the time by saying: “The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins. His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever.”
Taylor, Nate Mendel (former Nirvana drummer), Pat Smear and Chris Shiflett had all played for the band that was led by Dave Grohl for more then two decades.
