As recounted in The Detroit NewsJean, 32, was invited by White (46), to assist him in singing the White Stripes Song. “Hotel Yorba.”White interrupted the duet halfway through and told Jean that he had a question for her before asking. “Will you marry me?”He presented her with a ring. He obliged and quickly returned to the song, delivering the perfect line of “Let’s get married.”
White and his backing band stopped after the song and returned for an encore. But the sold-out crowd was able to hear more from the rock legend who is also well known for his work as The Raconteurs or The Dead Weather. Jean was also back on the stage, and White said, “It’s been such a great day, mind if we get married right now?”White’s mother, Teresa Gillis, and Jean Markel’s father Brent Markel joined Jean and Jean on the stage.
