Jashyah’s Mother Arrested for Child Endangerment Following Teen Found Safe

Jashyah Moore’s mother, Jashyah Moore, was arrested for alleged abuse.

The child vanished from East Orange (New Jersey) on October 14, and a reward of $20,000 was offered for any information.

A month later she was found safe in New York after Jamie Moore, the young girl’s mother, led community efforts to help find her daughter. The woman is now being charged with child abuse.

According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office the mother was charged with. “…two counts of second degree endangering the welfare of a child. The endangerment charges include allegations of physical abuse and also neglect.”

Authorities have reported that Jashyah and her 3-year old brother were removed from the care of their mother.

According to PIX 11, a young teen said that her mother sprayed her with bleach, stabbed her in her shoulder and left a visible cut.

Prosecutors also stated that the teen wasn’t being sent to school.

“With regard to school, it also does not appear she was registered at school at present, at the time she left home,”Theodore N. Stephens, Acting Essex County Prosecutor

Moore has not entered a plea to the charges and is currently in custody while awaiting a court appearance.
