The Jetson family is full of joy. On July 31, 2022, a bouncing baby boy arrived at Orbit City. According to reports, the family plans to give him a name. George Jetson. Congratulations to the family and here’s hoping he lives a full and successful life with a beautiful family and a great job!

Yep, that’s right, there’s reason to believe George Jetson from the futuristic children’s series The JetsonsIt is crawling all around us. Many fans of the show believe that the patriarch was born in 2022. Here’s why.

How George Jetson was Born

Hannah-Barbera was born because the 1960s saw the space race dominate conversations. The JetsonsAs a futuristic counterpart of its super-successful cartoon The Flintstones. The series heavily featured Googie-style architecture, the kind of buildings you can still see in Disney’s Tomorrowland.

The JetsonsIt provided a blueprint that showed generations what the future might look like. There were flying cars, robot housekeepers and talking dogs. The best part was that George only had to work nine hours per week and he never stopped complaining about it.

It’s not on for very long

It’s crazy to think how iconic visions of the future from The JetsonsAnd Star Trek became when you consider how they really weren’t on the air very long. Star Trek The Original SeriesOnly 79 episodes were aired from 1966 to 1969. The original primetime series of The JetsonsFrom 1962 to 1963, only 23 episodes were broadcast. 

Both series have had an indelible effect on our perception of the future. There have been many sequels. Hannah-Barbera brought back the series for a 51-episode syndication run in 1985. This allowed the series to be repopularized and introduced to a new generation. The Jetson family was the most recent to star in this series. The Jetsons & WWE: Robo-Wrestlemania!. That’s right: “his boy Elroy”Roman Reigns were canonically recognized.

Fan Theories on Birthdays

Futureistic media fans love to find out the exact date and time of events. The case of The JetsonsThe series was established 100 years in advance. Gizmodo Connected dots on the show to calculate everyone’s age. In this episode “Test Pilot,” we find out George is expected to live until he’s 150. He must plead for Mr. Spacely’s life because of a series of comedy errors. George replies, “Don’t launch those missiles! I’ve got 110 good years ahead of me.”

150 minus 110 = 40. The show is set in 2062 so George would have to be a pandemic baby born between 2022 and 2023. Some fans believe the real date was July 31. It’s worth noting this is all speculation unconfirmed by the powers that be at Hannah-Barbera, but it’s fun to imagine how much the world could progress by the time George hits 40.
