After he had two Coronation Street stars, Antony Cotton opened up about his matchmaking skills.
Silver Screen Beat spoke exclusively with the ITV star about his time on soap and his future plans.
Antony, who plays Sean Tully, discussed his past matches and paid tribute to Jenny McAlpine (her partner) as the first costar couple he helped pair-up.
Jenny has been on the programme for quite a while and plans Fizz Brown with the cobbles.
He answered that he has.
Antony stated: “Yeah, I have I set up Kym Marsh and her now-husband Scott Ratcliffe and I was the MC at their wedding.”
“But I think those days are gone, my cupid days are gone now I’ve hung up those wings. I’ve introduced two couples, Jenny who now has two children. So, that is my contribution to society.”
Antony has worked on the ITV soap almost 20 years. He believes the excitement isn’t over for his character yet.
Sean, 46, answered the question: “I’ve always said if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
“I really thought I would be there in a few months or maybe one-two week. But those initial weeks turned into years. Now it’s twenty years, and I don’t feel old enough. …”
Antony will be appearing at The Ideal Home Show, where he will be taking photos with fans at a pop up Rovers Return.
When asked about the show, he stated: “I love houses and interiors and designs and everything to do with homes. So, I love it. It’s mega, it’s packed there is food and drinks at the Rovers Return, there are photo opportunities.
“It’s the perfect place to go if you like houses and are like me. I will be there to cut the ribbon and take photos with my fans behind the bar. Come along!”
