Louise Minchin has hinted she’s up for taking her BBC Breakfast job back after being axed from ITV reality series I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
It comes as a job post has opened up on the show, posted by programme editor Richard Frediani on Twitter.
He wrote: “Join the No. 1 morning show in the UK – #BBCBreakfast is looking for a talented journalist to join its award winning team. Ideas and imagination from an incredible team – can you be part of it?”
The post was accompanied by a snap of Dan Walker and co-host Sally Nugent sitting side-by-side on the iconic red sofa.
And Louise wasted no time responding to the ad, as she joked: “Can anyone apply??” with a cry-laughing emoji.
Her eager fans loved the idea of a potential Louise return after her emotional exit from the programme, as one responded: “Please go back, you were fantastic in the castle and I thought you always looked really lovely.”
Someone else suggested: “Maybe an appearance now and again with a special report?”
“Was great to see Louise back on the sofa this a.m., made me remember just how great she is,” another fan tweeted of her post-I’m A Celeb appearance.
As a fourth echoed: “Would be great to see you back on BBC Breakfast or evening news. You are a great presenter and journalist. Hope you are having a good day today and a great weekend.”
Louise, however, hasn’t been far from the Breakfast sofa since leaving Gwrych Castle.
She appeared on the show on Saturday morning to discuss her reality show stint – and even joked that her former bosses would be furious with her for appearing on its ITV counterpart Good Morning Britain on Friday.
Appearing on the show with Adil Ray and Kate Garraway, she joked that her BBC career is over after the snub.
Adil said to Louise: “We noticed that your first interview was here instead of BBC, that’s very telling isn’t it.”
Louise replied: “I’m going to be in terrible trouble, I expect my former boss will say that’s it’s over there.”
Kate then asked the former BBC Breakfast host: “You know what people are going to say, you’re here on GMB and you were adored on BBC are you thinking of making the move? Are you thinking of replacing me?”
Before Louise could reply, Adil chimed in to say: “Should Kate get her coat?”
Louise gushed and said: “No don’t get your coat, I’ve done it for 20 years, keep your coat!”
