Erika Jayne won a victory in the legal scandal she was involved with her husband Tom Girardi. Page SixIt was reported Saturday that Jayne had been dismissed from the embezzlement-fraud lawsuit against Girardi in Illinois. Jayne’s resignation from the lawsuit comes one day after both sides agreed. “dismissal is appropriate.”Jayne’s attorney Evan Borges released a statement on Page Six regarding this ruling. His statement was sent to Edelson PC, a firm that handles class actions, and to all those who issued it. “accusations”His client. Borges said, “I’d like to see Edelson and everyone else take the high road going forward and not make accusations against Erika without evidence.”
“We want Edelson to get the most complete picture of the evidence as possible, and have no issue with further investigation,” Borges’ statement continued. “But the truth matters. Here, the truth is that Erika had no role in the Lion Air dealings, actions, or inaction as between the attorneys and their clients, and she never received any of the Lion Air client settlement funds.”This is good news for Jayne who goes by Erika Girardi. But she’s not done yet. Borges pointed out that Edelson could re-file against Jayne in California. But, she added that her dismissal was not final. “from the federal lawsuit that triggered bankruptcies of Girardi Keese and Tom Girardi is extremely important.”
This entire matter started in December 2020. Edelson PC sued Jayne and her husband, accusing them of embezzling millions of settlement funds from the families who lost their Lion Air 610 loved ones. The RHOBHStar filed for divorce from Girardi one month before this lawsuit. It was alleged that it was a “sham” divorce “to fraudulently protect Tom’s and Erika’s money from those that seek to collect on debts owed by Tom and his law firm GK.”
Season 11 RHOBHJayne spoke out about the legal issues she was facing. She denied that her divorce was legal. “sham,”She maintained her innocence in the scandal, however. During the season she confessed in a confessional. “Divorce is very painful and then having it called a sham is even more painful. It took a lot of courage to leave and it took two seconds for some ass– to say it was a sham and [for] everybody to believe it.”
