Rangnick is silent about Ten Hag

According to media reports, Manchester United may be close to a deal to allow Erik ten Hag, Ajax boss to take over Old Trafford.

Ralf Rangnick, Interim United boss, has been in the dugout from December last year and was asked about the Dutchman’s imminent arrival at Old Trafford. Rangnick declined to answer any speculation and instead focused on Saturday’s fixture against Norwich.

“I don’t know if it’s a done deal and my reply is the same – my focus is on the game against Norwich and to prepare the team on a higher level for the game,”Rangnick.

Fernandez signing approval

Manchester United will need a boost in their midfield options this summer.

Paul Pogba will likely leave Old Trafford after the season. Nemanja Maatic and Fred McTominay’s dependence on them has often led to the team losing games in which their opponents have a dominant possession. Enzo Fernandez, River Plate’s striker, is considered the ideal signing. Scouts were present to witness him scoring in midweek.

Fernandez has a release clause around £16million.
