Ralf Rangnick’s revolution is about to begin at Manchester United.

The new boss at Old Trafford oversaw his first match, and first win, as the Red Devils defeated Patrick Vieira’s stubborn Crystal Palace side on Sunday afternoon with the new manager’s tactical changes on display.

An intensive high-press looks set to be the way forward and Rangnick appears to be on the lookout for players who can implement his new methods as quickly as possible and help the Old Trafford outfit rise up the Premier League table.

The club has now been linked with a replacement for Paul Pogba, with the Frenchman’s contract up at the end of the season and no extension in sight.

A new striker could also be on the cards, according to reports, with Edinson Cavani being linked with a move away from the club in he new year.

Juve eye Cavani

Edinson Cavani has been linked with a move to Italian giants Juventus.

According to Tuttosport, the Old Lady would like a forward with experience and Cavani could be an option with his contract expiring at the end of the season.

The report adds that Cavani is “already looking around now” and that Juventus could be keen on his signature.

It also concludes that the Uruguayan forward would be “exactly what Juventus need in January”.

Striker targeted

Manchester United have been named as one of the clubs who ‘don’t let go’ in their bid to seal a deal for Benfica striker Darwin Nunez.

Other clubs are also fighting it out for the striker’s signature, and United will have to fend off the likes of Newcastle United, Manchester City and West Ham, according to Record.

United and Newcastle reportedly sent scouts to watch the forward on Friday night during Benfica’s match with Portuguese champions Sporting.

His club are said to be unwilling to let the player leave in the January transfer window, although he is reported to have a £128m release clause in his contract.

Pogba replacement ‘found’

United are also reported to be interested in bringing Aston Villa’s John McGinn to Old Trafford as a replacement for Paul Pogba.

The midfielder would not come cheap, however, with Silver Screen Beat saying Villa would seek at least £50m for the Scotland international.

The Red Devils were said to have had an interest in McGinn in 2019, when they were also quoted a price of £50m, and United legend Sir Alex Ferguson is reported to be a fan of the player.
