Sir Alex Ferguson has publicly backed Carlo Ancelotti while Manchester United examine their options regarding the next permanent manager.

Ralf Rangnick was appointed by the Red Devils as an interim coach until the end, when he will assume a consultant role. This is following the dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer earlier in the season.

Mauricio Pochettino remains Paris Saint-Germain’s preferred boss. Richard Arnold, the new United CEO, could appoint Ancelotti if Sir Alex gives his advice.

After David Moyes’ disastrous stint as United legend’s boss, it could be the second time that Sir Alex interferes with club managerial appointments.

Manchester United’s staggering total manager compensation bill since Sir Alex Ferguson has been revealed.

After Sir Alex, United’s legendary footballer, retired in 2013, the club hired David Moyes and Louis van Gaal as well as Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, to fill the manager’s seat.

Solskjaer’s November departure occurred despite Solskjaer still having a contract until the end 2023/24 season.

He was not the only one to leave United financially. The club’s total payouts since 2013 could have been a very useful addition to its playing squad.

Ancelotti enters managerial race

According to reports, Carlo Ancelotti is the Real Madrid boss and has entered the race of becoming the next Manchester United manager after Sir Alex Ferguson recommended it.

John Murtough, United’s Football Director, is reported to have approached Ancelotti for advice as part of the ongoing search for a permanent boss.

Ferguson is also believed to be interested on Pochettino being the PSG boss. However, the Argentinian remains the club’s first choice.

There is a growing feeling that the club may now have a backup plan in case they lose the Argentinian.

Sir Alex’s interference

Ralf Rangnick seems to be against Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United’s legendary manager.

Rangnick was appointed interim manager of the club. He will then take up a consulting role at Old Trafford and be part of the team that is working on the Red Devils next appointment.

Mauricio Pochettino, Erik ten Hag and Erik ten Ha make up the club’s five man shortlist. However, Sir Alex’s recommendation has led to Carlo Ancelotti being considered.

However, if Sir Alex advises the club, it would seem to be directly against Ralf Rangnicks past comments.
