Procter & Gamble is voluntarily recalling several Old Spice and Secret aerosol spray antiperspirants that were sold inThe United States after the presence of benzene was detected in them.
“Benzene is classified as a human carcinogen,” the Recall Notice reads. “Exposure to benzene can occur by inhalation, orally, and through the skin, and it can result in cancers including leukemia and blood cancer of the bone marrow and blood disorders which can be life-threatening.”
“Daily exposure to benzene in the recalled products at the levels detected in our testing would not be expected to cause adverse health consequences,”They added.
They also noted that no adverse events have been reported to date and are taking the precautionary measure to recall.
All affected antiperspirants/hygiene products have an expiration date before September 2023.

The products were removed from shelves by all retailers that sell them. FDA states that customers who purchased the products must stop using them and toss them away. They can also get reimbursements.
