Miss USA has a new queen.
Miss Texas R’Bonney GabrielMiss North Carolina was crowned the winner of the Oct. 3 contest at Grand Sierra Resort, Reno, Nev. Morgan RomanoMiss Nebraska was the runner up Natalie Pieper.
2021 Miss USA was the crowned winner during the ceremony Elle SmithHer reign was over when she gracefully handed the crown down. Elle shared a message and a picture of her crowning last January as a way to reflect on her time with this title.
“The moment that changed my life forever,”Elle wrote Instagram October 2. “Class of 2021, I hope I made you proud.”
Now, the sparkling piece is in the hands of R’Bonney—a fashion designer with plenty to be learned about her.
R’Bonney, an Asian American woman who was first to be awarded the Miss Texas USA title in Texas, made history by becoming a titleholder ABC News. She was also first Filipina-American to be awarded the title.
