Model Christy Giles’ tragic death is a sad cautionary tale. Giles was Southern California Hospital, Culver City pronounced her deadOn Nov. 13, several masked men allegedly abandoned the 24-year-old woman after she had a night out with Hilda Marcela Cabrales Arzola.
Two hours later, Cabrales-Arzola was taken to another hospital. Police treated both of these incidents as suspicious. “foul play”As an investigator and researcher “undetermined death”Continue testing until further investigation and testing is completed.
Jan Cilliers, Giles’ husband has been raising awareness via social media and speaking out about the situation. This includes creating a GoFundMe page to hire private detectives. Los Angeles County Medical Examiner – Coroner performed an initial autopsy and concluded with a deferral “pending additional investigation.”LAPD stated that initial indications indicate she died from an overdose. Official toxicology reports can take as long as eight weeks. Her place of death was still listed as the Hospital, with Nov. 13 being the official date.
Cilliers’ GoFundMe page outlines some disturbing details of the night of her death. Both Giles, Cabrales-Arzola, and Giles were allegedly drugged before being allegedly dumped 12 hours later by “three me in all black, masked in bandanas; license plates removed”Giles was dropped onto the sidewalk by the hospital. Cabrales Arzola, who was later joined by two men, experienced the same fate.
Although none of these details have been confirmed by police, the pieces are still being put together by those involved. Dusty Leslie Giles was Giles’ mother and told The Independent that Cilliers had been out of town in San Francisco, but that she was able track her whereabouts with an old phone she had left at home.
“My son-in-law has the mirror images of her text messages. My daughter got a brand new phone, and her old phone was still active and at home, it’s backed up to iCloud, so you can see the text messages,”Giles’ mother shared her story with the outlet. “She also has alerts on received text messages, so you can see when she has read a text.”
Giles’ final text was sent on November 13 at 5:48 to Cabrales-Arzola. Some chilling details have been made public. “My daughter texted Hilda’ let’s get out of here’ with a big wide eyed emoji-like I am scared, we need to leave. Hilda agreed and said ‘I’m getting an Uber,”She spoke. “We know that Hilda did order an Uber, we know that approximately 5-10 minutes later an Uber arrived. The Uber waited. The Uber left.”
Cabrales-Arzola is still on life support at her hospital where she was found. However, her toxicology report returned due to her being alive. This is a possible window into what transpired that night. “When hers came back it contained a trace amount of amphetamine and a trace amount of cocaine. When more results came in it showed she had heroin in her system,”Giles’ mother spoke out to The Independent “For my daughter, we are waiting for an autopsy to be done. Everything at this point is hypothetical, with the assumption that what they found in Hilda’s toxicology report is going to match my daughter’s. We don’t know.”
The current situation is extremely murky, very tragic, and highly creepy. GoFundMe notes that many women reached out with similar stories. “Since Saturday we’ve all received a number of messages from other females who have eerily similar stories, except the only difference between them & Christy and Hilda, is they survived,”The page says. The fundraising goal has been met and the current amount is $127 686.
