Naomi Judd (Grammy-Winning Country Music Legend), has died at 76


Naomi Judd was a country music star who is best known for her work with The Judds. She is also the mother to Wynonna Judd & Ashley Judd. According to the AP the sisters confirmed their death in A statementSaturday

“Today we sisters experienced a tragedy. We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness,” Judd’s statement is as follows. “We are shattered. We are navigating profound grief and know that as we loved her, she was loved by her public. We are in unknown territory.”

On Sunday, the Country Music Hall of Fame was set to induct the Judds. This event cast a bittersweet shadow. Judd’s daughters did not confirm or provide details about the cause of death. The mother and daughter were also planning an arena tour for the fall. This would have been their first since a decade.

Judd’s career came to an abrupt halt in 1991 when she was diagnosed with hepatitis. Wynonna was Judd’s daughter and she performed 14 number one hits together throughout her career. 1 songs in three decades.

According to the AP Judd is survived her by her daughters and her husband Larry Strickland who was also a musician and used to be a backup singer for Elvis Presley. Wynonna Judd, Judd’s little girl, was just one day away from celebrating their induction into Country Music Hall of Fame.

“Can’t think of a better way to be welcomed to our new home at the [Country Music Hall of Fame] than by the fans,”Wynonna wrote in this caption. “Looking forward to seeing your sweet faces along the red carpet on Sunday!”

Ashley Judd’s daughter is well-known for her acting career. In films such as Heat, Kiss the Girls, Double Jeopardy, and others, she has starred. Following her sexual assault by Harvey Weinstein, she became one of the most prominent figures in the #MeToo movement.
