Later this month, Netflix will return to Virgin River, California. The streamer released Friday’s first full-length trailer. Virgin River Season 4 is in preparation for the new season’s debut on July 20, Season 4 will include 12 new episodes.
Based on Robyn’s novel series Virgin River Alexandra Breckenridge plays Mel Monroe. Mel is a woman who responds to an ad seeking to become a midwife or nurse practitioner in a remote Northern California community. The series also stars Lauren Hammersley and Annette O’Toole as Mel Monroe. Season 4 is set to pick up where Season 3 left off, with Mel pregnant and unsure of who the father is – is it Jack’s or her late husband Mark’s?
Here’s the official synopsis to Season 4. “Despite not knowing whether her baby belongs to her deceased husband, Mark or Jack, Mel begins season 4 with a sense of optimism. For years she yearned to be a mother and her dream is one step closer to reality. While Jack is supportive and excited, the question of paternity continues to gnaw at him. Complicating matters is the arrival of a handsome new doctor, who’s in the market to start a family of his own.”
Season 4 will see Hope continue to heal from her car accident. The synopsis also states that Hope is expected to return in Season 4. “the lingering psychological effects of her brain injury will have profound consequences for both her and Doc.” Meanwhile, Brie is “intent on proving the innocence of the man she loves,”All the while, unexpectedly, finding herself in closer relationships with Mike “and one step closer to Calvin’s violent criminal web. Even as Preacher forges a new romantic connection, he can’t help but hold out hope for being reunited with Christopher and Paige.”
Season 4 is not the end, fortunately for fans. The next season of the drama series was confirmed in September 2021. It was then announced that Netflix had renewed the series for two additional seasons. This will see the series through its fifth season. As expected, the renewal of two seasons was not surprising. Virgin River has consistently been a strong performer on the streamer. After the July 2021 launch of Season 3, Virgin River enjoyed Over 2.1 billion minutes of viewingFor the week of July 12-18.
