New poll shows that white wine wins over red wine to be voted the UK’s favourite.

White wine has beaten red to be voted the UK’s favourite, with 36% of adults naming it as their top tipple.

A study found just one in four prefer glass of red wine while only 14% are partial to a rosé.

Contrary to popular belief, ‘it’s 5pm somewhere’, research has found that Brits believe between 6pm – 8pm is the ideal time of day to kick back with a glass of wine (42%).

But for the times when a traditional wine glass just doesn’t cut it, adults have confessed to drinking out of alternative vessels including a sippy cup, a bowl and even a shoe (2%).

The wine was named by Wine Spectator as one of the Top 100 wines in the world from 10,000’s of wines tasted.

A majority of polled respondents preferred to have a glass with dinner. Half said they would rather share one with their partner.

It is interesting that more men drink with their partners than women (52%), while 41% of women enjoy a glass by themselves. ‘me’ time.

Because it gets darker earlier, 40% of Brits enjoy wine at home. Only 10% prefer to drink at restaurants/bars.

“This is our third vintage so the challenge each year is to make sure our new vintage is as good as previous years, given the love and respect for it from our customers but keeping true to this year’s grapes.

“It has an incredible fragrance along with a unique taste and mouth-feel but is still in-keeping with the style of a Sauvignon Blanc, which I’ve found can be more flexible than I originally thought.”

Invivo Co-founder Rob Cameron added: “Every time we blend the new vintage of Sauvignon Blanc, Sarah Jessica continues to push the style – and her blending skills are really evolving.

“This year’s wine has a touch of oak introduced to it – given Sarah Jessica’s love for Chardonnay – and has a lovely, soft, full-bodied palate.

“It’s still representative of Sauvignon Blanc with its tropical fruit aromas and a nice interplay of fruit and acid, but with Sarah Jessica’s unique handprint on it.”

Each of the wines from the Invivo X SJP Collection are matched to a specific colourway in her shoe collection SJP Collection.
