Fans of Nottingham Forest were criticised for their savage chanting against Bukayo Saka in Sunday’s shock win over Arsenal in the FA Cup.

Forest reached the fourth round thanks to a late goal by Lewis Grabban, who defeated the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta’s hook on Nuno Tavares raised eyebrows within half an hour. Nuno threw the gloves to his face in anger and Mikel Arteta was left with a few bruises.

The youngster was taunted by his home supporters who chanted “you’re gonna cry in a minute”However, it was Saka’s abuse that caused a few eyebrows online.

They sang “you let your country down”The 20-year old refers to the decisive penalty that he missed for England in the Euro 2020 final in July.

Social media users quickly condemned the chant and branded Forest supporters “classless”.

“Forest fans booing Saka, then singing you let your country down is classless,”One fan wrote.

Another one said: “Forest fans booing Saka makes me feel f****** ill.”

“Notts Forest fans booing Saka and singing ‘you let your country down’ on national television. Utterly shameful. They ought to be fined and banned if repeated,”Another.

Forest fans even criticized the chant.

“Our fans booing Saka can f*** off,”One tweet.
