Oscars 2022 will have a host, and movie fans have plenty of ideas

ABC confirmed the host of the 2022 Oscars, prompting many suggestions among film lovers on Twitter. The network and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences have not named a host, but Glen Weiss was hired to direct again and Will Packer was Previously named producer. This will be the first Oscars ceremony to feature a master of ceremonies since Jimmy Kimmel hosted in March 2018 the 90th Academy Awards.

Craig Erwich, president of Hulu Originals & ABC Entertainment, announced that the 94th Oscars will have a host during ABC’s panel at the Television Critics Association virtual press tour Tuesday, reports the Hollywood Reporter. “You heard it here first,”Erwich spoke without announcing a host. The Academy announced Monday that Weiss would be the host of the show for the seventh time in a row.

After hosting the 2017 and 2018 ceremonies, Kimmel was replaced by Donna Gigliotti. Weiss and Weiss were able to produce the 2019 ceremony in a completely different way. Kevin Hart, comedian, was hired to host the ceremony. Hart resigned when anti-gay jokes that he had made in tweets years prior were resurfaced. The 91st Oscars was the first Oscars since 1989 without a host.

‘Let Eric Andre host… you cowards’

Surprisingly the host-less format proved to be a huge success. The ceremony was performed at a much faster pace and the audience reached 29.56 million. Even though the 2020 ceremony was held less than a month prior to the outbreak of coronavirus, it did not have a host. A host was not present at the 2021 ceremony that was watched by 10.4 million people.

“Just let Andrew Garfield be the host”

The Oscars will be held this year on March 27, and will recognize films that were released between March 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021. This is because the eligibility period for previous Oscars was extended by the coronavirus epidemic. On February 8, the nominations will be announced. Samuel L. Jackson, Elaine May and Liv Ullman will receive honorary Oscars at the Governors Awards on January 15. Danny Glover will be presented with the Jean Hershold Humanitarian award.

Tom Holland is a host of the Oscars and has a great ring to it.

Spider-Man, There’s No Way HomeStar Tom Holland made it clear that he would like to host the Oscars. It is therefore not surprising that many of Holland’s fans are eager to see it happen. According to THRThe Academy reached out to Holland regarding Holland hosting the Academy, and it may become a reality.

‘The Muppets should have the Oscars’

Several times, the idea of having the Muppets host was brought up. The Muppets are Disney’s owners and the Disney-owned ABC broadcasts the ceremony. “I just saw that you’re planning on having a host for the Oscars this year. I was serious about my suggestions for the Muppets as hosts. It’s a slam dunk idea, and would cause zero controversy,”One fan Submitted.
