Police chase ends at Catholic Church, as suspect is arrested on Altar amid funeral for 11-year-old cancer Patie

Unruly police pursuit that saw a suspect lead cops through San Diego County ended up at a Catholic Church, where a funeral was being conducted.

Video footage of the incident shows a fugitive driving an SUV and fleeing police, who chased him for 45 minutes through the California county.

He stopped suddenly and ran into Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, Fourth Avenue and Oxford Street.

A funeral was being held in the sanctuary for an 11 year-old boy who died from cancer.

“We stopped the service,”Pastor Paul Selvaraj told NBC San Diego. “People were wondering who this guy was and I did not know either.”

The church was filled with grieving family members and the child’s heartbroken classmates who were there to mourn his death.

Jose Espinosa (40-year-old suspect) knelt before a stained glass window, and was then handcuffed by police on the altar.

After he was taken from us, we resumed the funeral.

Espinoza is now facing additional charges for felony evading arrest, and disorderly conduct.
